We’d like to thank Shafian Rahman for an excellent summer.
Our Intern Shafian Rahman:
“In one of U2 songs, the stanza says the following: ” Every generation gets a chance to change the world, Pity the nation that won’t listen to your boys and girls, Cause the sweetest melody is the one we haven’t heard”. The sweetest melody will be the children of tomorrow with the power of education. In today’s society, where a global recession is affected every corner of the world , where global warming is a threat to our security, and a hunger crisis affecting not only the children in the Horn of Africa but the entire world. We can all change this one step at a time. By educating the younger generation we will enable them to dream like never before, that they will the opportunity and power of changing the world. When the children do change the world it will be the sweetest melody we hear.
This past summer I interned with Kids For Tomorrow. It was an honor and privilege to be part of this organization and for me to help change a child’s life in Kenya and in Cambodia. Usually an intern is assigned a name title but in KFT its different. Every day when I walked in, I didn’t work on a specific area, I worked in many different areas which I enjoyed. It kept things interesting . By doing different roles every day I learned valuable information about how a nonprofit organization works and that children all over the world are in need of our help. They need our help like never before. The feeling of seeing a smile on a child’s face when he or she is eating or being taught in school makes me proud that I’m playing my part as a human being to give back to society and help change the world. I will truly miss working for Kids For Tomorrow and its work environment. I’d like to thank the Founder /CEO of KFT Samantha Tannehill for giving me this wonderful opportunity that I enjoyed and learned so much. I wish Kids For Tomorrow nothing but the best of luck in the future !!!!!!!!!”
