Kenya

Our first project is the students and school of Sewa Junior Academy. A small school in the village of Matopeni in Kayole which is a slum of Nairobi, Kenya. There are 58 attending students with only two teachers and two classes. From babies (old enough to walk), preschool and kindergarten in one class and 1st through 3rd grades in the other. Our project is to get each child attending this school sponsored which will provide funding for books, school supplies, uniforms, and school fees.

Our second project is the students and school of Hope Streams Academy. A small primary school in a slum outside of Karen which is a suburb of Nairobi, Kenya. There are 72 attending students from preschool to 4th grade, they have four teachers who are payed a very small fee. The school is run by a group organized by the community to support education in the slum, they have volunteered their time and money to run and manage the school with the little means they have available. Our focus is to sponsor these children to attend this school which will provide books, supplies, uniforms and school fees. In addition to the sponsorship, we will be working to purchase a plot of land which will be owned by the Academy and then build a school which will allow for more classrooms, students, grades and teachers.
